2. Optimize your site: audience first, search engines second. A lot of SEO beginners commonly mistaken this to be the other way around. While it's true that there are benefits when optimizing your site for search engines, it is still better to start focusing on your audience first since search engines change their algorithms and give priorities to user-friendly sites and not to those which are created solely for SEO purposes.

3. Choose the right primary keywords and keyword phrases. This step is very crucial since the main goal of search engines is to return the most relevant results for any given search query. So, if you target the wrong keywords, chances are the main search engines will not understand what your site is about, thus it will not provide relevant results for certain queries. To find the right keywords, you can use Google Adwords and other keyword research tools.

4. Remember that content is king. Without good and high quality content, your site will lead you nowhere. So, write your own content based on your keyword research and make sure it's unique and original. If you can't do the writing, you can always hire freelance writers to write content for you.

5. Do work on making your site a link worthy one. To do this, you must include news, tips, and high quality content on your site. Plus, make sure to educate your online visitors through the use of videos and collect feedback from them.
